President's Message

Jackson Families,

Happy Tuesday. We hope you enjoyed the long weekend.

Our next PTA meeting is tomorrow night at 7:00pm. We hope you can join us.

The 3rd annual Trivia Night is 2 weeks away. There are still 2 team openings. You can fill out the completed form and return it to school in an envelope labeled TRIVIA NIGHT. For those of you new to Jackson this is a fun, must attend event. Ask your friends, neighbors, and relatives (anyone over 21).

Please see below for the link to take the 5Essentials Survey. Make your voice heard and add your input. It really only takes 5 minutes to complete. Survey is open until January 31st.

The last time I checked, Jackson had less than 10% participation. We can do better than that!

We’d like to thank Holly Wahr for her time and dedication to all the Win-Win events and the KidStuff Coupon books.  With your help the books raised $1,362.50. Thanks also to Jane Vlahos for her help with the Carson’s Community Days coupon books which raised $641! Thanks again ladies.

We are in desparate need of AM Crossing guard volunteers for the rest of the school year. No recurring commitment...sign up and try it! If you can spare 25 minutes (from 7:50-8:15am) any morning between now and the end of the year, please consider helping our kids get safely to school. Please check out the sign-up here.

Remember to choose kindness.

Stacy and Kathy

Trivia Night-

The 3rd annual Trivia Night will take place on Saturday, January 27 at the Normandy Banquets, 310 W. Butterfield Rd.  This is a new location to allow more teams to participate. Click here for the Trivia Registration Form.

Winner need not be present for this raffle and anyone can participate even if you’re not attending trivia.

The forms for the Hamilton Raffle can be found here. We’ve received less than 20 entries so far, so your odds are good!

SAVE THE DATE! Jackson Science Olympiad—Thursday, March 1st

Science Olympiad is an evening of science activities. Students team up and work with a parent, participating in three different grade-level activities. These vary from science experiments, hands-on fun, to discovery learning. The children experience science in a fun way. There is no advance preparation on the children’s part and love working in groups in an evening of science!Parents helping with this event will only need to give a few hours of time. Parents can volunteer in these ways:

  • Event facilitators work from scripted text given ahead of time and present this information to students.

  • Assistant facilitators are on hand to help with experiments and pass out materials.

  • Parent guides are responsible for groups of three to four children. They contact their group members before the event, deciding on a team name and stay with this group for the evening.

Please consider volunteering when the Sign Up Genius link is sent out. It’s a night of amazing fun and discovery. We hope to see you there!

***Please begin saving paper towel and bathroom tissue tubes for use in one of our activities. These can be dropped off at the office.***
